At Higgins Tree Farm, we are serious about the work we do planting seedlings and potted trees on CRP, WRP and other conservation projects. We realize that we are doing more than planting trees. We are creating future woodlands and wildlife habitat that will benefit the landowner as well as future generations for many years to come. Many of these landowners are hunters while others are farmers or investors looking to make a wise financial decision for their future. We understand and appreciate both of these approaches and never lose sight of the landowners perspective as we complete a tree planting project. We have been in your shoes and can offer sound advice and guidance to help you meet the goals you have set for your tree planting project.  We have CRP tree plantings on our own farm that were planted as both a financial benefit and as a way to improve the wildlife habitat. Many years of experience have taught us valuable lessons that we bring with us to each job. When you hire us to plant your tree project you get the benefits of our years of experience. We strive to complete each planting to the satisfaction of the landowner. After all, the landowner is the one who has to live with the results long after we leave. If you are planning a tree planting project, take the time to discuss it with us before you just hire it out to the lowest bidder. While we may or may not be the lowest bidder on your tree planting project, we are sure to be the planting contractor that listens to you and your desires.

If your primary objective is to improve the wildlife habitat on your land for hunting purposes, you definitely want to talk with Don Higgins about your project. As an avid bowhunter for trophy whitetail bucks and freelance outdoor writer, Don is well respected in the hunting community. He has had numerous articles published in major hunting magazines such as North American Whitetail, Bowhunter, Petersens Bowhunting, Whitetail Journal, Buckmasters, Outdoor Life and others. Many of these articles dealt with habitat improvement. While some contractors will have numerous crews of “tree planters” scattered over a wide area doing the actual work, Don takes part in every tree planting project that Higgins Tree Farm does and will offer advice on how to improve the hunting on your property as if it were his own. If you are going to hire a contractor to plant your tree project shouldn’t it be someone that is experienced and is willing to help you achieve your goals?

My tree planting was approved with no problems. I appreciate the time you took to plan ahead on the placement of certain species to improve the deer hunting on my property in future years.

Don,
I just wanted to drop you a note and tell you
how much I appreciate your efforts in
completing the tree plantings on my farm. As
an avid conservationist and landowner your
input on species and your attention to detail
have not gone unnoticed. Also, the spruce
trees which I purchased from you and planted
around my pond are doing great! Thanks!

Thanks for working with me on my CRP tree planting. I was impressed with the way you
handled everything for me while I was busy
farming. I will certainly call you if I ever decide
to sign up more of my farm with the CRP tree
program.
